NATURAL COMPLEXITY - HAND KNIT & CROCHET
A collection based on traditional lace, inspiration for this collection primarily came from the delicate structures in dragonfly wings and the panelled pattern cutting from segments of butterfly wings.
Explored lace as a technique - “re-inventing” it by using vibrant colours, layering openwork and woven and knitted fabric combinations. Played with colour and dyeing techniques – particularly tie-dyeing knitted fabrics and hanks of yarn. I also enjoyed using unconventional materials and incorporating monofilament and hints of metallic to create the illusion of translucent panels.
Produced an elegant, delicate, feminine and sophisticated collection – a different style from my previous portfolio projects.

WGSN SS/15 KNIT & JERSEY FORECAST
Out of the 6 themes WGSN presented to us for SS15 trends, I chose 'Imagined' as it looked at the contrasts between cultural/modern, geometric/irregular and matte/shiny surfaces. I enjoyed using a mix of yarns, and combining knit and print techniques alongside an organic and early colour palette.
Geo-Jewels - TEXTILE DESIGN
This theme was developed across embroidery, weave print and knit workshops during my first year of BA(Hons) Textile Design at Nottingham Trent University. I have always been drawn to rich, jewel-like colours and the variety of abstract patterns within the rocks. I enjoyed experimenting with a range of techniques and combining them to produce unusual and exciting pieces.
AROMA HOME
A selection of knitted accessories I designed whilst on work placement at the Sophie Steller Studio for AROMA HOME. These hot water bottle covers, handwarmers and slippers were sold as a Christmas collection in John Lewis.
